Rogan's first Christmas was extra special because he had grandparents coming out of his ears. My family was able to come out and visit, including my brother Luke who met Rogan for the first time.

It was an eventful Christmas Eve. We went over to Oma and Opas for Christmas dinner. The night before, Oma arrived back from Alabama after helping Aunt Renee and Uncle Brian get settled with their new bundle of joy, David.
We had a wonderful dinner, and Rogan began his long 48 hours of total and complete over-stimulation. It wouldn't be Christmas without it!

On Christmas morning, we opened gifts with my parents at our house.

Rogan was very excited, especially for all his new outfits. He also gave his mother some very nice presents. One of the highlights was our matching Hawaiian Outfits. Now we just need some tiki torches. Melikalikimaka!

Next we all went over to Nana and Grandpa Steve's house. We started out with some of the most entertaining stockings in the history of stockings. Just look at how many they got hung from the chimney with glee.

Then on to open presents under their giant tree. This year they put out the fancy ornaments because next year we'll all be investing in the Rogan-proof variety.

After we were all finished it started to snow! This is pretty amazing because as far back as anyone could remember, this is the first time it's snowed on Christmas here in the Northwest.

We had a nice visit with Uncle Alex and Aunt Jess before they had to leave. By this time Rogan was pretty much done. That's a lot of stimulation for a little 4 month old to handle. He went to take a nice long 4 hour nap. When he finally woke, he was a little groggy.
We finished out a gloriously blessed day with a fantastic Christmas dinner, complete with musical crackers. For those of you that don't know about these, you open your cracker and you get a whistle with a number on it. There is a sheet of music that has the numbers listed in order so everyone sitting around the table can play Christmas tunes together. It's highly entertaining.

This year the highlight, for Andrea and me, was our little bundle of joy. Rogan is an amazing blessing and we are so thankful for him and the joy he brings to the entire family, and Christmas forever more will be different, and better, with him around.
Merry Christmas, and oh what a Happy New Year it will be.

"Hey Santa, how's it going?"

"Yeah, sure I can look cute for a picture."

"You know, Santa, that kinda tickles. "
