It's been an eventful week here at the Davidson House. As with all weeks preceding holidays, there are plenty of good picture opportunities. Since many of you just visit the blog to look at the pictures I'll indulge you like the hundreds of candy craving youngsters roaming our streets this evening.
Now that's how you wear a message tee.

Rogan is really in character. He's trying to catch flies with that tongue.
"Are you kidding me? Another hat?!"
See the great pumpkin in action!
This week also graduated Rogan to the next size diaper. As you can see it's quite a change from newborn to 1. Yikes! If there is this big of jump between 1 and 2 we'll need to get a second garbage can!

Today was a very eventful day. Opa took Rogan down to the boat for the first time. Before we got to the boat we stopped for brunch at Chinooks in Fisherman's Wharf in Seattle. Rogan was turning heads throughout the restaurant, in a good way. He was very well behaved and just kept looking around at everything and everyone with his big bright eyes. He especially liked the boats out the window.
What a Beautiful day.

Rogan got to go down below. Opa was going to put him to work straight away, but he fussed enough to make him change his mind. :)
After the boat we also went for a nice walk to Golden Garden Park. The fall trees made for a spectacular backdrop. Rogan was actually awake for most of the walk and got his first real taste of the Puget Sound.

A nice family portrait.

Here's the entry that so many of you have been waiting for...the first bath pictures! (well the first ones since the hospital)
Sebastian has his perch, making sure Mommy was doing a sufficient job of cleaning behind Rogan's ears.

Even though it doesn't look like he's enjoying himself, he actually does like bath time. During his last bath he started kicking his legs and looking down at the splashing with his usual intensity.
Once he's out of the tub he makes sure to put his clean toes to the test standing and...SITTING!

He had a little help from Daddy in this picture, but he can nearly sit up on his own now. So exciting! He's got a ways to go before crawling, however, because his arms aren't quite keeping pace with his legs. As Opa always says, "We need to get him a calf and keep it in the yard so that Rogan can bench press it to get strong like Samson."
Man it's fun to watch them grow! Andrea and I hope you are all enjoying it as much we are!
Hooray for Babies!

I know I haven't been putting a lot of posts up recently but I'm really trying not to just spam all over the blog. Instead, I'm going for quality over quantity, keeping the posts confined to milestones or good pictures.Yesterday was a milestone, Rogan's 2 month checkup. This is the checkup that all parents who hate shots dread. We still haven't decided, even after the fact, whether it's tougher on the parents or on the baby. Rogan got 4 out of a possible 5 shots. Yuck. It's the first time we've heard the "I'm hurt" cry. Not a pleasant sound for sure. He made it through O.K. and is doing better today, just needed some time to sleep it off. Problem is, he has trouble falling asleep and it only compounds the problem when your poor little legs hurt. :(
On a much brighter note, Rogan is very healthy. He weighed in at a solid 11 lbs. and measured 22.5" long. His head was 39cm. That put him in the mid 30th percentile for all three. While that may seem a little low, Rogan is very lean. He has a lot of muscle and doesn't have a lot of rolls on his arms, legs and belly. Andrea keeps joking that she's feeding him non-fat milk :)
Rogan is smiling and cooing all the time these days. Month three has us looking forward to his first laugh, some grabbing, rolling over with the possibility of some crawling and, dun dun duuuuuun, a first tooth?!?
Andrea got a new carrier today called a Moby Wrap. Even though it is just a big piece of fabric it makes for a very convenient and versatile carrier. It will grow with Rogan. When he gets to big to be carried in the front it easily converts to carry on the hip. Nice!

Getting situated is a trick at first.

So far Rogan is a fan, especially of facing out mode.

Andrea and I took Rogan to the Remlinger Farms u-pick pumpkin patch today! It was a gorgeous day, in fact we were so warm we walked around in our t-shirts! That's pretty impressive for mid-October around here.
Taking Rogan to the pumpkin patch was one of those experiences that both Andrea and I had been excited about since they day we found out we were pregnant. We talked about the day when we could go get a pumpkin with our baby as a family. What a great feeling it is to have one of those dreams come true.

Here is Andrea and Rogan picking out Rogan's first pumpkin!

A great family memory!
As you can see there were quite a few pumpkins left to choose. This year they had a lot of really large pumpkins. As you can see it really was a great day to be out and about. Rogan, unfortunately, slept through most of our time at the farm. He woke up to get something to eat near the end, and opened his eyes occasionally to see where he was, but for the most part he slept the whole day. Who could blame him for being sleepy though, this has been one very stimulating and exhausting weekend.
After the pumpkin patch we went over to Nana's for dinner. Nana had a new toy for Rogan to try out.

Rogan will love this once his legs are long enough to reach the floor. :)
After such a great weekend how could a little guy feel any differently than this?
