Rogan and I met Nana at Farrel McWhirter Park for a picnic lunch and to visit the farm animals. I had heard that there were some baby pigs so we had to check them out. It was a beautiful day with lots of sun. Fortunately there was plenty of shade to keep us cool.

Mommy and Rogan having fun.

Rogan loves to swing. He would love to go as high and fast as the big boys if we would let him!

Here are the baby pigs we went to see. There 14 in all! Can you even imagine? I can barely keep up with one sometimes! :)

Here are some great shots of our beautiful boy enjoying the fresh air. Enjoy!

Nana picked Rogan a little daisy...

I can't believe that Rogan will be 1 in less than two months! It is absolutely amazing how fast the time has gone. I've been doing a little work on planning for his party and finally settled on a theme. Since the boy LOVES water, Ryan and I thought it only appropriate to go with "Splish Splash" (ducks, frogs, and bubbles).

I have put together a list of some ideas for gifts on Amazon. These are just some IDEAS. We have found that Rogan really prefers toys that he can be creative with. Anything that is a very specific activity gets old, and boring very fast (i.e. those flashy toys with all the lights and music that don't really do anything). Of course, we are not implying that you should get him a toy; he has plenty to keep himself entertained. However, if you are so inclined, here is the link:

The Strawberry Festival

Not too far from our house is a great farm called Remlinger Farms. They have seasonal fruits and veggies that you can pick yourself; it's the same place we went to get our pumpkins last October. When Rogan gets older we'll visit the little amusement park area with the small rides and choo choo train that circles part of the grounds. But for now we enjoy going out to pick fruit and having lunch at the cafe.

Today was really hot so Daddy and Rogan spent just a few minutes enjoying the strawberries out in the field and then cooled off in the shade while Mommy picked a pound of little, tiny (but delicious) strawberries. After lunch and picking out a decadent berry pie to put in the freezer, we headed home to cool off in the pool. We are looking forward to the raspberry fields opening up soon. Rogan doesn't care for strawberries but he can't get enough of those raspberries just like his Daddy and Grandpa Davidson! :)

Picking the first strawberry.

One of the last pictures of Rogan's little 'bulldog' grin now that he has 4 top teeth in.

Rogan came to my baseball game this morning. He was at my first game 2 weeks ago, but we forgot the camera! Andrea took some great pictures! Check um out!

After a good inning!

There are pictures of me running and hitting, but they're all kinda silly. You can see them on my Facebook if you want.

Happy Birthday Opa
Saturday, June 21, 2008, 03:07 PM
First full day of summer and you know what that means. Opa's Birthday! Pat planned a super fun nautical theme party with plenty of seafood and wine! Lots of Opa's friends were there.

Opa looked like he was having a great time catching up. We forgot our camera so I'll have to wait to get the pictures from Pat.

Andrea and I made a photo slide show video set to music chronicling Opa's 60 years! She spent lots of time scanning old photos and slides using Opa's other present a slide scanner. I put the whole thing together on a DVD and we got to watch it with everyone. It was really fun to see his face looking back on his life. At one point Andrea asked him about all the different pictures of places he'd been. He said, "Yeah, seeing these pictures reminds me of all these places. It's all coming back to me!"

It was really cool for me to see all the little snapshots of his life!

Happy Birthday Ian (Opa)!
