So Neddy Noodle has already began voicing his opinion on the programming he wishes to hear in the womb. At night, when we're watching TV in the bedroom, Andrea will set the remote control on her belly. Without fail, Neddy will begin to kick and you can see the control bouncing up and down. Obviously he's not a fan of the Food Network. He doesn't seem to have a problem when we're watching HGTV. Perhaps he knows we're watching to get tips for the house in anticipation of his arrival. For some reason, however, he takes particular offense to Iron Chef America, I thought it was because of Batali's Orange Crocs, but Andrea reminded me that he can't see from in there, so it has to be Alton Brown's insightful commentary that's putting him off. Don't worry Alton, we still like the show we just have a little remote controler on the way.

This post is an effort to get our loyal readers up to speed, we've decided on an in utero name for our little one.Neddy Noodle
Let me explain a bit. We decided that we were not going to discuss names seriously once we discovered the sex. We just wanted to decide for ourselves. We began telling everyone his name was David. For those of you that need a little help here, that would make his name David Davidson (we're not that mean). Donna, Andrea's mother, took it a step further and said Not Ever David...some of you may see where this is going.
The resulting shortened name: N. E. D.
For those of you who know Andrea, the next step won't require much explanation. She likes names to be cute. For example, our cat Sebastian is primarily called Bugga-Boo. So NED was cutified (is that a word?) to be Neddy Noodle. And there you have it. So hereafter in this blog and in the real world, our new baby will be referred to as Neddy Noodle or some variation thereof.

Today Andrea is one year older and officially into the Third Trimester. So we all wish her a very Happy Birt'day! Note the sign. Guess the factory was trying to cut costs along with non-vital letters.
Today was also the 28 week checkup which for us means the Glucose Blood test. Look at the yummy drink Andrea gets. MmMMmmmm!

She said it wasn't as bad as people had made it out to be. Apparently it tasted like a very sweet kool-aid. In addition to the colorful libation, she also had to refrain from eating any sugars or carbs! Perhaps they should have told her this before she agreed to have this appointment on her birthday! Seriously, come on!
Luckily the appointment was over with plenty of daylight left. After all we had cake to get to. Word of advice for anyone reading this, don't keep a pregnant woman from her cake, especially on her birthday! If you do, things like this can happen.

Both mother and baby are doing great heading into the last 3 months. We made our appointments for the remainder of our doctors visits. It's getting close, we can feel it, literally, he's kicking all the time now!

This morning as I rolled out of bed Andrea looked at me and said, "I feel him. Hold on lemme see if I can get him to do it again."I rushed over and put my hand on the side of her belly and then it happened. Two good kicks! It's one of those moments for a dad. The first time you feel your son kick. I can only imagine how big the grin on my face was. :D
What a great morning surprise!

We had a very special visit today from some college friends of mine. Aaron and Robyn Rose and their twin boys Zach and Logan. Check out their blog here.
We had lots of questions and they had lots of advice. Robyn even let me hold Logan. Can you believe it? I can't believe I'm going to have one of these of my own soon.
