That's right Rogan is two years old. Can't believe it. So this blog post is to take stock of where our little man is at.First, the stats. Rogan is 35 inches long (guess I should say tall) and 29 lbs. which puts him in the 50-75 percentile. Andrea was saying that when a kid is 2 years old you can take their height (35 inches) and double it and get your height as an adult. 70 in. or 5'10", give or take.
Rogan's birthday party was on his actual birthday, Aug 22nd! Here are some highlights in picture form.

The day started with a gift from Nana and Grandpa. The bubble shooter!

The bubble shooter is a crowd pleaser.

The bubble shooter wasn't the only bubble making device available.

The sandbox also provided plenty of entertainment during the party.

I heard the food was better than the Broncos...ok..back to Rogan stuff! ;)

There were plenty of family and friends there to celebrate with Rogan.

Andrea never ceases to amaze with her great cakes. This year the theme was construction zone. Check out the amazing cake with dirt, trucks and rocks! It tasted pretty darn good! But don't take my word for it, check out these...

Eamon enjoyed it!

"More cake pweeze"
The evite said "gifts optional, have you seen our house?" but of course that didn't stop the grand parents. I mean it is Rogan's 2nd birthday after all and this is the first year where he can really appreciate new toys.

There was quite a pile of loot.

Ohh, trucks!

The new Cat trucks were a BIG hit, and not just because they were BIG trucks. They move and make sounds AND they have a 'mute' button! (score!)

I think this next one was a gift for me a little too, a Mariner's toy chest full of toys!

Rogan wasted no time playing.
So the other thing that I'm excited to share is our list of Rogan's words and some of his favorites!
Favorite Songs: Ball Game, ABCs, Happy B-Day, "Ben-ya" The Circle of Life from the Lion King, "Meatball" On Top of Spaghetti

Favorite Foods: Pizza, C-row (Cereal), Broccoli (seriously!), Olives, Ice cream, Goldfish crackers, Newtons, hot dogs with "dip dip", and of course pancakes!

As a quick referance, here is a link to Rogan's 1st Birthday post so you can see how much he's grown. C R A Z Y !!!!

Mariner's Game, Aug 9th 2009. Terrace Club seats with Nana and Grandpa
Rogan loves baseball. Going to a baseball game with Nana and Grandpa makes it even better!

Hot dog like a big boy! That hot dog is bigger than his head.

Rogan saw his first Grand Slam and it was by the Mariner's Russel Branyan. He was pretty excited about the new foam finger Nana bought him!

After the game they let the kids run the bases. Here we are down on the field getting ready to run!

Heading into 2nd base!

Safe!
Rogan actually had a chance to practice running the bases the day before at one of my games.

Rogan sure does love his baseball!

For a little weekend adventure we went to the Scottish Highland Games in Enumclaw WA. Andrea was really excited to see the events. Rogan was really excited to see/hear the loud bagpipes. Only problem was there were so many that you really couldn't appreciate one band since you could hear the others warming up. It was a great day full of food, fun, and plenty of sun.

More Pipers!
Sound quality not so good on my cell phone, but you get the idea. :)

Going for a stroll down Clan alley. The McKay (spelled MacKay) clan was there, unfortunately the Davidson clan booth was empty.

Watching the games. It was pretty hot, but we brought our own shade.
First event we saw was the Caber Toss. Always a crowd pleaser.

getting started...

going....

success...

Scottsman know how to celebrate!
Next event was the Sheaf Toss. This guys set a world record!

A day in Bend, OregonThe day began with a wonderful breakfast at a local bagel shop called, The Bagel Stop. Had some very creative culinary creations (especially for a bagel shop). After breakfast we dropped Paul off at work (Deschutes Brewery) and headed up the Tumalo Falls. Jill gave us all a little scare calling all her friends asking which road to take as we were heading out of town. About 15 minutes into the drive she said, "oh, this looks right."

View from the bottom of Tumalo Falls.

Apparently this is the most photographed area in Bend, and you can see why.
Next we hiked up for some more photogs!

Rogan did a good job keeping Jill busy! :)

Rogan really like all the water.
On our way back into Bend we stopped at a local farmer market. The day before Rogan had fallen asleep right before our tour of the Deschutes Brewery and Andrea had to stay behind with him in the car while he slept. Today it was my turn while Jill and Andrea sought out some local produce.

Catching some zzz's at the Farmers Market
After the farmers market it was back to the house for a little lunch and some play time with the doggies.

Fetch Dewey!
We headed out for a quick view of the surrounding area from Pilots Butte.

The whole world's a stage as Rogan does a little dance on the top of Pilot Butte.
After taking in the local scenery it was time to cool of a the pool!

Pool Time!

We started off slow with a Rogan size water slide. That didn't last long however, because...

...there was a BIG water slide.

Oh Yeah!!!!
The water slides weren't the only things to play with. There were lots of cool water "toys" and Rogan was very fond of what he called, "The Shower!"

After the pool we headed home to get ready for dinner. We were going to the Deschutes Brew Pub to try some more of the local beers and their beer pretzels and protein. We learned on our brewery tour that the used grains are taken and used in the dough for the pretzels. Also other used grain is sold to local ranchers and fed to the live stock. Then that live stock is bought back and used in the Brew Pub. :)
After dinner we went to Drake Park in downtown Bend and saw the Mirror Pond (beer was named for). While there Jill introduced us to the "smelly trees" which she swears smell of butterscotch and vanilla. Rogan didn't really get that...

We all had to try it, though.

Then it was time for a little play with Uncle Paul who hadn't had a chance to play with Rogan yet.
Auntie Jill got in on the fun...

We finished off the evening at home where Rogan had a few jobs for Uncle Paul to "FIX IT". Aunt Jill wasn't complaining.

Uncle Paul, Fix it!

What a good helper!

Make sure it's straight, Uncle Paul.
We had a great time and will be back for more as soon as we can! We all loved Bend!
