Playing in the leaves!

We finally got a dry day so we geared up to tackle the yard. Rogan is finally old enough to join us while we're out working. He even helped a little. Mostly he just walked around playing with all the fall debris.

Rogan got a little worn out from working/playing so hard and had to take a rest. The shrub rake was much more his speed.

It's hard work pulling around a rake that's 3 times your size, but he does it with a smile!

A Born Music Enthusiast

It's no secret that music has played a significant role in both Andrea's and my life. It's what got us through high school, college, it's even what brought us together. One would assume that our son would also be as enthusiastic about music as we are. Well, one would be right.

This picture perfectly illustrates Rogan's love of music.

Rogan doesn't just like to listen to music, he quite enjoys playing as well. His Grandpa Steve even got him a light up drum pad to play with. Of course he loved it, but it also got him interested in the keyboard. We had to break out our keyboard at home and this video is the moments just after...

Rogan Red Nose

For Halloween I got a blinking red nose as part of my costume. Well not surprising Rogan is a big fan. He even wears it around the house. Andrea and I can't wait until we can find some antlers so he can be Rudolph for Christmas!

Rogan has his own lights to go along with the siren on the toy firetruck. His flashing red nose lit up the house!

This video is priceless. The best part is when he goes down the hall, wait for it...so cute!

Oktoberfest in Leavenworth, WA

Andrea, Rogan and I took a day trip to Leavenworth, WA for Oktoberfest. Andrea and I went there before Rogan was born and had a great time. It's a beautiful drive over the mountains this time of year with all the trees turning beautiful, warm fall colors.

The drive is about 2 hours. We timed it so that both there and back were during Rogan's nap time, which worked out perfectly. He slept most of the way there and back. It was a relaxing drive too with no traffic and great views. Love it!

We found an Oma und Opa bench in Leavenworth so we had to take a picture to share! So cute!

Rogan and I having fun watching the Oktoberfest parade. It was something all right...3 floats, 5 horses, and a mini pony pulling an according playing, lederhosen (sp?) wearing gentleman. I don't know how I missed that picture :)

The Beer Wagon!

Here's the restaurant we had lunch at. While we were enjoying our bratwurst Rogan got a taste of one heck of a pickle.

Rogan had a fun time having Mommy chance him through the city square.

After a yummy lunch we took a walk down the Wenatchee River as a family.

It was a fun trip, and nice day away from home.

Rogan playing in the pots and pans drawer. He loves the loud noises they make when you bang them together, but then again what boy doesn't? He's also sporting his rocker haircut and t-shirt!

Rogan was still smiling despite being sick. Check out that hair, yikes! The Rocker look taken to an extreme! Someone needs a haircut!!

Andrea finally had a moment to give Rogan a haircut. He's looking very cute. The rocker look is gone, and now he's a clean cut little boy.

Rogan was really excited about the 'new' shoes he found in his closet. He wanted to wear them so badly he didn't have time to change out of his PJs to do it.

"Lovin' these shoes Daddy!"

This one is blackmail for when Rogan is a teenager!

Uhh oh!!!

This weekend we discovered a hole in our roof which has been causing a slow leak. Andrea discovered it, unfortunately, as our kitchen floor started bowing EXTREMELY. Uncle Alex, Oma and Opa came over to give us help and Grandpa Steve gave us his phone advice. We're certainly luckily to have so many people close by to help us out.

We got the leak patched and are drying out the crawlspace. The floor is another problem. We'll have to replace it eventually, but for now Andrea is happy to sing "Surfin' USA" while she rides the linoleum bubbles.

Our October Tradition - Pumpkin Patch here we come

For the fourth year in a row Andrea and I went to Remlinger Farms to pick pumpkins. As you may remember, Rogan first time was last October. Just like last year Rogan was a little tired when we arrived!

He woke up pretty quickly, however and was ready to go go go! That was the big difference this year he can walk (sorta). He had some super cute rain boots which were just a little to big which hindered his walking abilities but sure didn't dampen his spirits!

He can still walk, just not as well in those super cute boots.

When he couldn't walk fast enough, Mommy gave him a hand to get him into the actino faster!

This year the crazy weather has delayed the harvest. Usually when we go to pick pumpkins the plants have all been removed, but this year they were still there and there were still TONS of green pumpkins.

"Look what I can do Daddy!"

We were expecting the field to be one big mud pit because of yesterday's wonderful weather, but it wasn't bad at all. In fact, the weather turned out to be very pleasant for our fun day at the farm.

Rogan is a big fan of big trucks, not a surprise really. He especially liked the tractor!

"This is fun, let's do it again next year!"

Issaquah Salmon Days

Rogan, Andrea and I embraced the Northwest weather to enjoy Salmon Days in Issaquah. Salmon Days in a festival to celebrate the salmon run up the Issaquah Creek and other Northwest rivers. It's a site to behold seeing these giant fish leaping out of the water making their way up the rivers.

It was rainy and windy but really what else can we expect from October?

One of the highlights was while we were at the salmon hatchery I was taking a photo of Andrea and Rogan looking at the fish ladder. Apparently it was a cute little scene and a local photo journalists got a shot of us to put in the local newspaper. If I can find the picture I'll make sure to post it here. For now you'll have to live with the cute pictures from our fun day.
